So I bought a 4 stage RO/DI system from BRS and then decided to add an additional DI canister. BRS's systems arrange these with 3 canisters mounted together on a brace and then whatever you want to add separately. But I've got 4 canisters andI need a 4 canister brace! This one single canister is now hard to manage. (I see some other brands do have 4 canister set-ups, but it's too late to switch now.) And I can't mount these to a wall: my whole work station is in a bathtub of a guest bathroom. No drilling into tile. I could mount these on a 1x6 board, just to keep them together, but that board will be heavy - and these canisters all filled with water are already heavy. So can anyone think of another material that might work that's sturdy (water proof/resistant) but much more light-weight?

Years ago I was in the same situation. I had to fasten the rodi unit to something mobile.
I cut out a board wide enough to to mount all of the canisters ( I think maybe 24" wide) and about 24" tall. I cut out a hand hole at the top ( 2" x 4" ). To keep it upright I just added 3 legs screwed into the bottom of the upright board. 1-1/2" x 18". One on each end and one in the middle. It was crude, but effective.
The weight was maybe 40lbs.

What's "heavy duty" material vs. metal?
