Hey everyone. New member, but probably a question that has been asked a million times. I know everyone’s circumstances are different, so here is mine. Tap water is 98-112tds, after ro membrane 1. After approximately 400g through a BRS 75gpd with water saver secondary ro kit my resin is exhausted and reads 1. TDS meter has been calibrated using 342tds solution. If the water is so low going into the resin how is it exhausted so fast.

Does your water have high CO2?

The ph of the tap water is always around 7. I am unsure how to test the amount of c02 other than ph

This is over 2 months, not all at once.

Almost guaranteed you have high CO2. If so you have 2 choices,

1) you can run the RO into a container and off gas with an air stone before running through the DI resin. (Search for RODI CO2 on this forum and you’ll get more info)

2) run Cation and Anion resin separately and just replace the Anion more often.

All depends on how much water you need. I have high CO2 and I get about 300-400 gallons before I have to replace my anion at $13 per cannister. 300-400 gallons lasts me 3-4 months or longer so it’s not a big deal but if you’re going through hundreds of gallons a month the second container may be worth a look

I currently only have one system going. 150g, but will be setting up a second system later 120g with 90gsump. When I was at my old house, larger city, higher tds from tap, my di would last almost a year with 30g water changes weekly.
