I used to make rodi water by turning on main water coming into rodi using Apex solenoid.

Recently there was a leak in the quarter inch tube connecting a pressure meter...Where my finger is there was a jet very thin jet of water spraying.

I was controlling this for 6 months using the Apex solenoid, I was worried this is always under pressure I didn't know that the quarter inch tubing couldn't handle this kind of pressure which is 55 PSI household..

I'm going to fix this for now but my question is... is this quarter inch tubing supposed to handle household water pressure? mine is 55 PSI ...am I at risk of cracking this again?

Looks like you may have just had some bad tubing or tubing that got bent at some point and weakened.

My RODI tubing sits at about 70 psi all the time and a lot of it (to the holding container) sits at 100-105, as it is after the booster pump. Even the tubing to my ice maker sits at 70 psi and has been sitting at that for years now.

Edit: All tubing is cheap amazon blue, red, black and white tubing.

Either defective tubing or tubing that was crushed or bent, weakening the sidewall. That tubing should easily handle 55psi. If you're not concerned about color, HD sells in in rolls or either 25 or 50 foot for a couple bucks..

Thx guys. So I will just replace that one piece for now. BTW I do know HD sells them cheap , they are rigid and clear . Are the colored ones any stronger?!

Is there a life span for these ..I mean do we replace them every 2-3 yr??

I took out the foot long piece and was able to snap 2 " pieces like pretzels!! I guess they get weak with age, IIRC it came from a tank breakdown so it could be old tubing...!
