Anyone running one of those RODI Smart Buddie setups? I need a booster pump and the Aquatec 8800 kit is actually more money than the Smart Buddie setup right now at SWA.com.

Currently I have two Hydros solenoids setup to turn on the supply line and flush for a minute at start up and then flushes every hour once my FW reservoir low and high sensors are both dry.

The Smart Buddie does the same thing and I was thinking I could use the Hydros solenoids to create another flush for 1-2 minutes to help with TDS creep with those instead of the DIY version I tried creating but want to see if anyone else has used the Smart Buddie and how they've liked it?

I have it for 5 years and like it very much. Boost my water pressure from 35 to 80 PSI. Can make 44 gal brute trashcan worth of water in about 12 hours IIRC (100gpd restrictor).

Thanks! I also like that I would be able to clean up the tubing as I can remove the flow restrictor and auto-stop valve...
Mines been running for probably 8 years or so. I like the fact I don't have to do anything like flushing membranes etc. the pump does it all. Between salt and rodi I make over 60 gallons a week depending on how many WCs I do.
Thanks! I love that my current Hydros setup auto flushes when it kicks on and every hour as well!
I’ve had one for years haven’t had a problem.
Excellent thanks!!!

I'm thinking about buying one. I would also like to hear some reviews on the R/O smart buddy
Looks like three great reviews and love that it's been several years to 8+ years! Saltwateraquarium.com has both versions on sale!

And I am getting the same positive reply from other FB groups I asked the question to.

I've had one for a little over a year now and I really like it BUT....just recently I had TDS creep become an issue, as I Just have the RO Buddy connected to a float shut off in my RO tank, well I left the water ON to the RO unit and the "off and on" cycle that the buddy continually goes through Killed both of my DI resin bed filters in a day.....gone...depleted. First time that's ever happened. I know the instructions say to use a mechanical timer to shut off the unit once the RO tank is full, so this doesn't happen. Well, I am now thinking of adding that timer, or adding a bypass valve just after my RO membrane, so I can turn the water on, flush the system out before it gets to the DI cannisters, and then switch it over to fill my tank. That's the ONLY down side I've had so far with this unit.
