RODI water storage

Hey everyone! I have recently gotten the BRS 100gpd rodi system.

I have also recently forgotten it was turned on, gone to the store, and flooded my kitchen lol.

I was wondering what you all might recommend for both an under-sink storage container as well as some sort of auto shut off so that I don't flood my kitchen again lol.

BRS sells a float switch for your RO/DI container, you could also look at an auto shut off valve.

I use the Tunze Ro controller. It has both a level sensor (on and off) and a time out feature after 12 or 24 h. I do not let it entirely run on its own, but the shut off is what I use.

In the past, I had many RO water overflows in the basement.

I have found that larger storage containers simply lead to larger floods when I do eventually forget

I don't have a float switch, but really need to get one. These days, I hang my car keys on my RODI unit so I can't leave the building unless the water has been turned off.

New to the hobby (again after 15 years off) and have the same RO/DI (love it btw). I have the output (with cut-off valves) going to a float-valve (about $17 BRS) to a 40 gallon Petco tank with a lid, so it stays full and available. This has worked well except for one occasion where I had it up to close to the lid and the lid kept the float valve from sutting off... been working well for a year+

I use a 5-gallon bucket (then again I don't have a big tank either)

Yeah I can imagine my container takes about an hour to fill up and I still forget to turn it off even with alarms. If I had larger ones id absolutely forget all about them, even with the keys

Yeah I had been considering using a tank, but thanks for the heads up on the lid, I'll have to make sure that I don't do something that prevents the shut off from shutting off

If you're saying you have it constantly on and filling your tank, I'd periodically check your output TDS. You need to flush those filters some or you'll get some TDS creep in your water.
