Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue after installing a roller filter and I’m trying to understand if others have experienced the same problem.
My main drain (Durso-style overflow) was previously very stable and silent. After connecting the drain directly into the roller filter, I started noticing the following behavior:
Basically, the roller mat changing resistance (dirty → clean) seems to directly affect my overflow water level and noise.
When I remove the roller filter from the drain line, the system becomes stable and silent again.
Has anyone else experienced:
I’m currently testing the system without the roller filter for a few days to confirm, but I’d really appreciate hearing how others solved this:
Thanks in advance for any insight
I’m having an issue after installing a roller filter and I’m trying to understand if others have experienced the same problem.
My main drain (Durso-style overflow) was previously very stable and silent. After connecting the drain directly into the roller filter, I started noticing the following behavior:
- When the roller mat advances automatically,
the water level in the overflow suddenly drops - This causes the Durso to suck air and make noise
- When the mat gets dirty, the water level rises again
- So the overflow water level is constantly fluctuating depending on the roller resistance
Basically, the roller mat changing resistance (dirty → clean) seems to directly affect my overflow water level and noise.
When I remove the roller filter from the drain line, the system becomes stable and silent again.
Has anyone else experienced:
- Roller filters causing overflow / Durso water level instability?
- Sudden noise when the mat advances?
- A need to add a bypass, separate feed pump, or partial flow split to solve this?
I’m currently testing the system without the roller filter for a few days to confirm, but I’d really appreciate hearing how others solved this:
- Independent feed pump?
- Partial T-split from the drain?
- Complete removal of the roller?
Thanks in advance for any insight
