Running UV

Does anyone run UV on a nano? If so what UV do you recommend?

I don’t really feel you would need one in a nano because a large water change will usually solve most problems.

@tankstudy do you notice your tank glass staying cleaner longer with the sterilizer?

Not really.

In the past, I've had bacteria blooms that really affected my corals. That is the only reason I run the UV sterilizer 24/7. If your looking to keep your glass cleaner, longer, I think a skimmer would have a far greater impact as it will remove your extra organics that could fuel algae growth on your glass.

For the most part, the UV sterilizer only zaps and kills whats in the water column, it doesn't necessarily remove it from the system like a skimmer would, meaning whatever it kills will just end up fueling other organisms in the system later down the road.
