You are going to get salt, if not salt water, on the saw and if stuff is not made for a salty environment it can get real bad real fast. Even if you only use it occasionally it will sit with salt inside it and salt will attract moisture so it is quite possible that spending $399 for a salt water saw will be cheaper than replacing the $129 saw several times.

The blade speed for the woodworking bandsaw is going to be far too high of a speed and it's going to end up being a very dangerous situation.

That's a bad idea IMO. I work with a commercial woodworking bandsaw (Not a piece of crap from home depot) where the blade runs true, and I can actually properly tension the blade, and I wouldn't feel comfortable taking a colony to a woodworking blade on it. (It would likely slam the colony/frag into the worktable, smashing it, or worse pulling your finger/hand into the blade.).

The saltwater bandsaw made for fragging, isn't going to result in a $5,000 ER visit for stitches or the cost of a surgeon to try and sew your mangled finger back on. It's also likely designed so that if saltwater does get into it, it doesn't just electrocute you and call it a day.

Just my $.02

If you cant get a bandsaw get a Dremel or similar rotary tool and a diamond wheel.

I own both and use my Dremel more just because it is a pain to pull out my Gryphon saw every time and clean it up. I I mean it is just so much easier that unless I have precision or lots to do I just use my rotary tool. Plus diamond blades are not cheap.

Even cheaper find a Harbor freight coupon.
