Sabella's 450L mixed reef build thread

Awesome thread ! Thanks for sharing. Question: somewhere in the 2000 posts you talk about removing your new corals from their plugs in an effort to avoid putting nasty things in your tank... do you do that with zoas and chalices too? I always feel like those are too delicate for me to mess with. Thanks @Sabellafella !

Nope, tell you the truth im chicken with handling zoas. I got very very sick for almost 4 days from getting saltwater in my eyes that had zoa juice lingering in the container. It was prob the worst 4 days of my life. Anyway, zoas go in peroxide and or heavy heavy iodine, so im not that worryd. Chalices on the other hand nope, nothing you can really do about that other then to smother the bottom of it with glue.

This is it, the last photo i posted i think was under my reefbrites, i have a hard time taking photos under leds.

That looks amazing! Why do you believe yours looks so much more deep red? Or is just photo settings?

When i first got it, was actually an ice blue with gold color. Turned gold/crimson, now blood blood red/purple.

Ahh scary! Sorry that happened to you. I will, however, learn from your awful experience and not mess with the zoa plugs! Thanks!
