I bought the salifert master test kit, and so far I am fairly happy with it. I don't really like the phosphate test however, it is hard to get an accurate reading below 0.1 - I suppose the hanna test would be worth buying for phosphate, but are there any other tests that the hanna would be worth getting for the upgrade? They are expensive so I don't want to buy anything that won't be an significant improvement.

You could start with the Phosphate for now and later down the road if you decide, you can add other Hanna testers.

I use alk, po4, and no3 Hanna eggs. Salifert on hand to cross check.

I use Hanna for phosphate, Alkalinity and Nitrate. For Calcium I prefer either Sailfert or Red Sea Pro. I think the Sailfert is perfectly reliable, but I prefer the ease of testing using the Hannas for the 3 I mentioned.

Like some others:
I use Hanna Phosphate ULR, Nitrate HR, Alkalinity dKH,,, and like them all.
I use Salifert for Calcium and (very rarely) Magnesium.

Note that I'm color blind so the Hannas are of extra value to me,,, as I need a "helper" for Salifert.
*even if I wasn't, I'm still pretty sure I'd own and use those same 3 Hanna checkers

IME Salifert work great but phosphate is the hardest to read. I got a Hanna LR Phosphate and like it much better. Alk, Cal, Mag salifert are super easy to read and consistent. Nitrate not as easy but better than phosphate.

What do you mean? The hanna HR nitrate is just as easy as the phosphate.
