Hey yall, me and my family are gonna be building a custom new aquarium we were just going through different options and here they are. A 96’x36’x26’ standard tank a 72’x48’x26’ peninsula or a bigger peninsula with it being 7 feet instead of 6. The thing my family really loves are tangs. How many tangs could you put in some of these? 4? 3? Which tank would you suggest? Thanks for the help guys!

The total number depends on the types of tangs. Some of them get significantly larger than others and could be potentially more aggressive. If you are specifically wanting tangs I would go with the longer tank vs the taller tank.

How many would fit in a 7 footer? Two of the tangs would have to be a Desjardini Sailfin and an Orange shoulder that would be getting an upgrade from my 180, they get pretty big maxing out at 16’ and 15’. Could definitely fit another one in there right? And it’s iffy on two. Maybe two smaller species like yellow tang, gem, purple etc?

Since you want primarily tangs, get the 96. Longer is always better for them and may increase your ability to have more than expected.
