Picked up a new tank, been wanting to upgrade my clownfish/anemone tank for a while.

I really kinda like the way the rockscape we put together looks, but I'm not sure it's really the right choice for a dedicated anemone tank. It's really hard to work around the narrow display area of this tank so I worry about getting the flow right. I think I'm probably going to play around with a few more options before I make a final decision.

Still not sure on lights either

Little bit of a light bulb moment with my constant pH battle.... also a "I feel stupid moment"

After realizing that my apex was reading a very different temperature than my helio heater probe, my sicce pump, and my redsea ato probe.......I borrowed an NIST certified thermometer from work.

My tank has apparently been running between 75-76°F while my apex was telling me I was pushing 79-80°

After calibrating my Apex temp prob, the pH reading IMMEDIATELY jumped up, so I guess the pH probe reading is adjusted for temp??

I'm now reading pH 7.8 in the middle of the day when before that was closer to my max pH reading at night.

Made the choice to test my two nano tanks today. I don't normally test them because they seem to be doing well, one is a softy tank and one is an anemone tank.

They do both have a few small frags of hard coral, but not much....so I've always assumed that my weekly water changes were enough...

Turns out they both have things I should probably address

I find it odd that my macroalgae tank has the highest N&P of all of my systems, but it's also the only one I'm not carbon dosing at all, and I've been thinking I need to do some thing about flow because a lot of detritus gets trapped between the rocks.

The anemone tanks low alkalinity is surprising, I knew my chalice and goniastrea had grown a good bit but I didn't realize they had been taking up that much. I recently moved two favia out of the nem tank because they were loosing tissue and I thought maybe they had gotten stung by the nem. Now I'm wondering if it was the low alk that was bothering them

I have found that adding some baking soda to your top off will help bring the alk up slowly.

Started over in the new 30L with a different plan. Built a new rock island out of shelf rock, and left enough room on the right side of the tank to put my existing rock structure from the 10g there when I move everything over.

House got hit by lightning. Apex is fried. Multiple other things are damaged. Cousins next door got physically injured. Today ******* sucks. I can't afford to start over on the electronics on my tanks so I'm not really sure what I'm going to do at this point.

Haven't even finished the tank transfer upgrade of the 10g to the new IM 30g and suddenly my husband is discussing selling the RedSea 250 in order to upgrade to a 120g he saw at @WWC today

So. . Right now the plan is to transfer coral and fish into the 25g and the 30g....as well as catch and sell a couple of the fish we had begun to regret over time....

Keep the lights and a bit of the equipment, and post the tank for sale.
