Nope. Topography looks different. So does the shape of the perimeter.
Thank you lol I was waiting for someone else to see it. One is pretty circular and the other is not.

Seeing the neon bounce listing, I’m with you OP. I’m glad you didn’t pay the price of the cosmic though.

My guess is the color difference is from discoloration due to shipping, but I don't have much experience with buying corals online, so IDK if shipping stress can cause this much color change

Can these so called "high end" corals really discolor? If so it's certainly a scam market lol.

I mean all corals can change coloration depending on condition or due to stress, keeping them healthy enough to keep their coloration is part of the challenge that comes along with keeping corals. It certainly is disappointing that what OP got differs heavily from what was advertised though, whether shipping stress or misleading photos.

I guess the price tag becomes even harder to swallow if the potential is there. I just couldn't spend that kind of money on something that can change and isn't certain.

Same here. I will typically only chase the “high end” coral if there’s some type of deal for exactly that reason. Not to mention, when you receive a shipment you could face potential delays because of weather, etc. or just because FedEx is terrible lol.

The place I got this piece from is one of the top, highly reputable coral vendors so I thought there’d be no issues. It was my first time purchasing live coral from them (usually just purchase supplies for the tank) and didn’t even think of this potentially being an issue with them.

Lesson learned forsure, will stick to my local vendor and two out of state that actually send you what you pay for (wysiwyg of course) and know a thing or two when it comes to customer service (not provide an AI response).

I can certainly vouch for a few that are truly WYSIWYG if you ever decide to order... Dust Bowl Corals, Corals.com, Cultivated Reef, and Tidal Gardens
