This is growing in my algea turf scrubber ..anybody tell me what it is

I honestly can't say ...I just handed them the sample ..never thought too ask ...will check tomorrow
If it is fairly low powered (like 50x or less) I would think it is a marine lichen.

They're using darkfield illumination which is typically why it glows like that. Darkfield is a great technique when you're looking at an unstained live specimen, but only some scopes are capable.

I agree, a lichen is a good thought. What does the growth look like without magnification?

Its green ..I thought hair algea ...

Ok so now I've read up on it ..its very interesting...combination of fungi and blue green cyanobacteria....well this is growing in my algea turf scrubber ....I've had issues with cyno over the last few months but finally got rid of it a few weeks ago ...or so I thought ...also now in place from the cyno I've now got dinos coolia I believe ...so do I want this stuff growing in my ATS ...if not how too get rid of it (other than change the mesh its growing on) ...what's the best algea too grow in ATS ...can I or should I seed the mesh ....a lot of questions ...sorry .!

I'd just let whatever grows on it grow. You can seed it, but whatever you seed it with will still be outcompeted by what wants to grow on there. I would also point out that systems are never free of cyano or dino's. Even if not visible, they are there. It's all about making it so other things out compete them so they don't thrive where we don't want them to.
