Sand transplant...

What are the possible negative side effects from swapping out my tahitian moon sand for something g other than tahitian moon sand.

And by the way tahitian moon sand is cool for 5 minutes.

Any thoughts and strategies would be great.
I'm running a jump 38 by innovative.

Start siphoning it out during water changes. Little at a time.

Will the new sand jump start a new cycle...

Adding Sand dose not normally start cycle. If it dose it will be minimal. I assume you will be buying the sand with the bacteria so that will help also. And should affect anything. When you add new sand get a really long new funnal from auto parts store. Use that to put sand in it will help minimize clouding.

if the sand has not been in tank very long you could probably get away with siphoning allot out at a time.
