Hey friends,

I have a yellow watchman goby in QT. He’s on week 4 in a 20 gallon QT with another yellow goby (thriving), algae blenny (huge bully), and a peaceful fire fish and Melanurus wrasse.

Copper power plus metro used. Copper power at ~2.15 ppm.

I’m thinking this is bullying from the blenny but it could be something more sinister.

What do you think/advise? I’m considering removing the blenny to the DT.

Is there a dip that will help the goby? He’s not eating as of today.

Many thanks,
Ross

Preventative just in case ich was present.

The blenny was flashing on day 1 but stopped almost immediately.

The QT tank started at 1ppm copper power.
I was just curious. I personally would never medicate any fish with anything just for preventive measures unless they were showing definite signs. Feel like that would cause unnecessary stress that can be avoided just by leaving them in QT with no medication for 2 weeks.

As I learn more in the hobby definitely contemplating watchful waiting in QT. Or tank transfer with hydrogen peroxide which is a bit of work (and scientifically not fully delineated) but chemically friendly.

You raise a good point that I think a lot about for sure.
