You just measure your par at different intensities so you know where you are, can be, maybe want to be. Lights, to me, are set them where they need to be and leave them alone. The best part is knowing where any hot spots or shader than expected spots are

I just use a generic sump pump from amazon. There are times i wish i had a transfer pump so i could vacuum. Alternatively just mix everything up and pump it into a sock.
Which one do you recommend, because im
Not about to spend over $100 on a pump only for taking water out of my sump

I use this vacuum, comes with several attachments, makes water changes easier.

I use it to mix 5 gallons of kalk at a time too. Could easily mix a small batch of salt if you had to. Never gave me a problem.
That’s what I’m talking about. I may try this one. I have been meaning to get one for awhile. Using the faucet suction for the python takes way too long, pulling water from the sump.

I'm afraid that if I do, I would go mad worrying about chasing the numbers.
I made a big mistake of running heavy blues with radions, bassically ab+ but whites at 10% and didnt realize how much par the whites actually contribute. My tank was hurtin because i was so underlit. I also measurer anytime i made lighting changes so i could ensure i was consistent went adding more lights to overcome shading, seemed successful. For me, if i didnt know, id feel like i do when i havent measured alk for a week or two. Antsy wondering "if everythings good"
