Hi - it's been a long time since I've been on the forums, and I find myself back here needing some advice! A few years ago I bought a screw-in LED bulb from RapidLED for my nano tank, and hung it from my ceiling via a cord that I bought at IKEA (several people were doing similar set ups at the time). Well, that bulb died on me about two weeks ago. After visiting RapidLED's website to purchase a replacement, I've found they no longer make this type of fixture. There are a few similar fixtures on Amazon, but I have no idea whether the quality is any good or how they will work over a reef tank. Does anyone have recommendations for screw-in LEDs for reef tanks that are popular and well-built these days? I like my set up and don't want to revert to a different type of fixture if possible.

Thank you!

Can you provide any details about the light? Watts? Colors?

Without knowing more details, a Kessil would be the nicest replacement that comes to mind that is still quite similar to a suspended bulb scenario. Not sure of your tank size, but a model 80 or 160 would probably be sufficient.

Tunze has a pretty sweet line of submersible lights that might work too.

The RapidLED bulb I was using was similar to this fixture: https://orphek.com/nr-12/
It is suspended over a 10g nano tank using a cord that you would screw a regular lightbulb into. I have an elaborate lamp shade for it, etc, and would prefer to keep the same set up, e.g., finding another screw-in LED light.

When I bought the original one, the RapidLED bulb got great ratings, and the few others on the market not so much. I don't really know what products are out there now that are similar and are good products. Any ideas would help!

Par38's always seem to run too hot (or something) and die early so I never did like them.

Wish I knew another option.
