Scrub live rock?

i am fairly new to the hobby. I have a 90 gallon saltwater tank that's approximately 4 months old. I have about 90 lbs of live rock. I used approximately half in base rock when I started. I now have a hard green algae all over the surface. It's not coralline it's algae. Im consistent with my water changes however the algae isn't disappearing. My question is is it safe to take the live rock out and scrub it with a wire brush an RO water?

Before you do that you should verify what kind of algae it is. I have heard some of the experts say that a green algae growth (not green hair algae. Some other species) precedes coralline algae. Scrubbing the rock may disrupt the bacteria cycle you're trying to start too. Can you post a picture?

I rotated the rock. The algae was all on the top facing the light.

You'll want to reduce/remove the nutrients in your water. changes themselves apparently aren't working. have you tested your no3 and po4?

I'm not understanding the mirror? I test the nitrate, nitrite, Ammonia n ph which are all good.

Sorry, nutrients. "good" is subjective and doesn't tell me anything. what were the readings and what test kits?
