Currently have a 55 gallon FOWLR but I’m not happy with the current aquascape. I ordered around 15 lbs of shelf rock from BRS that is coming in soon. Any suggestions on how to make this scape look less horrendous?

Stack those rocks into 2 piles with a path slightly offset from the center. You'll see what you want.

Probably gonna need some epoxy/mortar and driveway sticks or rods of some sort to support your structure. There's just not a lot of width to get a good base going in a 55 if you want some height.

Horrendous is in the eye of the beholder. I really think it might be a little plain, but doesn't look too bad.:) If you have shelf rock on the way, I personally would provide one or two swim through areas and try to give an uneven look to the shelf rock. Higher on one side than the other.

No, no, you’re spot on, that is hideous ;)
J/k! As others have said, just start stacking them and see what looks pleasing to you. After all, you are the only one it matters to (unless you’re married!).

As there is no coral i see this as like a blank canvas, as in it will not be too hard to play with. I never had height in my previous two tanks then with my red sea nano i got excited with the milli-put and now my birds nest is in the open air when i switch the return pump off and I couldn’t be happier. Get some height and i guarantee you will love it.
