Over the last few years I had egg sacks in my yard. I always find a couple mantids. Last year the side of my garage was covered in little ones like that. I have not found any this year yet. Nor did I see any egg sacks last year.

3 years it has taken for the insect biodiversity to come back after treating my yard for mosquitoes.

Finally I've found ladybug larvae on my milkweed. Checked last night very little aphid population left.

We've been avoiding treating the yard for anything because we don't want to knock out the firefly population we have.

Gatlinburg area is where I spent many days as a youngster riding motorcycle, fishing in trout streams, hiking part of the Appalachian trail...great times for sure!

That rock weighed about 30-40lbs. I carried it half mile for my youngest, hes 17.

I told him if he gets it out ill help carry it back to the car.

He worked at it for 20 minutes moving rocks and getting it up the bank.

Thats was his favorite part of the trip and that happened first day in gattlinburg.

Been super busy since coming home loads of fires to put out.
