2 things worry me with this tank. Stand height and how far above the tank to mount the lights. I'd love feedback what has worked for y'all!

The Coralife Biocube stand I have is not visually pleasing in our living room. The tank is about the same height. I was planning on adding 4-5". That's what I had planned anyway.

I designed my tank and stand based on how I wanted to view it, from the top when standing and from the side when sitting. It's in our living room, so I didn't want it too tall that light would spill everywhere. I still have a little light spill, but I can live with it. Also, my canopy can be raised or lowered, which allows me even more options. If you're worried about stand height, I would build one that is wider than the tank by a few inches, which will add some stability, but that depends on how high it is?

This is my 80 gallon deep blue that I am finally had time to start stocking more and getting into shape after dealing with 0 nitrates and phosphates for past month .Tank has been up for 8 months

I also just did the zero nutrients thing. For me it was cyano, then chemiclean followed by dinos which I just started to win the war with. I had begun stocking in August but things got crazy. This tank has been running for 3 and a half years but I've owned it for 7 months. The tank everything inside it fuge and stand are the only things left from the previous owner. All the equipment I upgraded along the way as well as turning the 40 breeder into a fuge. Too much too fast.

I remember when we discussed this a while back on R2R.I beat the zero nutrient pain my rear by finally turning off my skimmer, removed most of chaeto from refugium, removing carbon matrix and added 1 male lyretail anthias, clown goby, and a lubbock's fairy wrasse and finally won the fight of the 00's ordeal!
I hope you won your battle as well!

Good memory!!! I would say that I currently have the upper hand and am advancing rapidly towards victory! Thankfully I took immediate action and did my research here. I've said this before and I'm sure I'll say it many more times.... I think things are finally getting stable. Finally started growing coralline and seeing depletion of alk and calcium. I also added more fish. Exquisite Firefish, snowflake clown, royal gramma, blue green chromis bicolor blenny. I want a cleaner shrimp soon but I am using my budget to stock more corals.

I'm a huge fan of the shallow reef look, here are some of my all time favorites:

are you using the deep blue stand for the tank?

This is the scape of my 24g IM lagoon, about a foot tall. The tank has since grown in a bit, but the scape has stayed the same.
Good luck and God bless!
