This is the way! It is expensive for sure, but your stuff arrives alive. Also, I've had no issues with air cargo. Maybe a minor 30-minute weather delay or something but that is relatively insignificant. It ain't cheap though...I cannot recall EVER having a failure with airport to airport cargo shipments, not since the 1980's anyway.
As an aside, last time I picked up stuff at the SW cargo desk, they were laughing at me and knew what I was there for. They said, "Y'all fish people are always the first ones to show up after a plane unloads. Every time."
