Should I be concerned?

I’ve had leathers shed layers of tissue when they clean themselves, but never change colors. This guy is changing to brown. Some tissue has shed. Is this just another version of a hardy cleaning or not?

I've given up trying to figure my leathers out. Happy one minute, ticked off the next. I had one similar to yours that started turning brown so I've been moving it around to various spots in an effort to appease it. It seems like it's finally happy now having been moved up into a higher PAR area.

I'm having an issue where my leathers won't fully straighten upwards, like they're always hunched over a big. Only my smaller frags are fully straightened. I tried more light, more flow, less light, less flow. Their polyps are fully extended but they just won't straighten.

It looks to me like that’s the algae and the reason it’s shedding, and the fact it basted off easily (or Atleast it sounded easy) makes me think it is algae which is causing it to shed.
