Hey everyone!

I love puffer fish and really want to get one but everywhere I see they are not reef safe. I have a mixed reef aquarium so everything from softies to hard coral is in there. I don’t want to kill the corals. Was curious if anyone’s had luck with puffer fish in their aquarium and what kinds to look for or to avoid.

Thank you!

No pufferfish are completely reef safe. You could try a Valentini or maybe a and Blue Spotted. Still risking it
Do you think it would be better to add them before any coral? Or it doesn’t matter

  • Not at all. Feeding demands don’t limit my stocking choices

  • I usually learn about the demanding feeding schedule after buying the fish!
