Should i transfer my tang back over

So i had ich, two weeks ago i transferred 7 of my 8 fish across to the main tank after 15 days in 0.5ppm copper and left my tang as it had a mark on its white tail, turns out it was just a mark but left it for the 30 days, however my six line did still have ich and i quickly removed it from my dt and back to the quarantine with my tang, they have been in there a week, my tang was definitely clear so is it safe to transfer like all my other fish or will the six line have reinfected it?
 
By the way both fish are now looking completely clear with the tang never showing a spot

If you tank has not been completely fallow for 12 weeks, then your DT is not ich free, and your specimens will likely become reinfected.

If your intent is to keep your tank "ich free", then you'll need pull, QT, and treat ALL of your specimens while you leave the tank fallow for the 3 month period. If you raise your tank temp to 81F, you can cut that down to 7 weeks.

Otherwise, you can opt to run an ich management system. In that case, I would always have Polyp Lab Medic, Ruby Reef Rally, and Ruby Reef Kick Ich on hand.

Part of running a management tank also includes proper maintenance / chemistry, excellent nutrition, and low aggression. Stress is the number one trigger for outbreaks.

Thanks, the display was fallow for 10 weeks which is longer than the recommended 6 which is hopefully enough, the reason for this was actually because I failed to cure the ich about 3 times before this, hopefully this will be enough

i'm a bit confused. as I thought you said you removed 7 of 8 fish from the DT? Also, as you've discovered, 6 weeks is usually not long enough. There are reasons why there are so many opinions (6/8/12) on the fallow period. You do what I recommend and you can be sure the ich will be gone. Sadly, there are no shortcuts in this hobby.

Monitor copper ppm regularly. If the copper level remains steady day to day, you can test less often, but if the concentration falls below 2.0 ppm, you may need to extend the 30-day count for the copper treatment.
Monitor water quality parameters as you would for your display tank.
If the copper or ammonia levels ever exceed guidelines, be prepared to administer water changes (pre dosed with copper) to correct the problem.

Yeah, I didn't even address that. I figured I'd let the #fishmedic crew handle that one.

It was the only thing I remembered with enough confidence to mention but I still left myself an out in case I was wrong lol. I no longer QT I no longer perform medicated QT so I was going from memory which isn't great.

15 days of copper is generally Not long enough as life cycle of ich is as much as 21 days

Also not sure if I understood the original post, but isn't 0.5 ppm copper not helpful either?

We would want 2.25 to 2.50 ppm, right?

I assume he is using Cupramine which the max level is indeed .5. Will check

Please verify you are using Cupramine and not coppersafe or copper power?
 
Yeah i am using non chelated copper hence the lower level, sorry for confusion, all fish were removed and treated with copper but initially the level was too low then i used cupramine and after 15 days, in total they were in the quarantine for 10 weeks, i then transferred 7 of them and one still had it, so i immediately removed it, none of the fish in the display have any symptoms of ich after 2 and a but weeks, i was simply wondering whether i can transfer the tang over which was the fish not transferred initially it was sharing the tank with my six line that still had ich for, can ich transfer to my tang even with 0.5ppm copper as i don’t want to leave my tang in copper more than 30 days
 
Re reading my initial post i can see how it comes across that i took my fish out two weeks ago, but i meant that after 10 weeks i put my fish back in the display which was two weeks ago

Tough to say if there was cross contamination or not.

As a side note - that 15 days of ionic copper at 0.5 ppm (like Cupramine) isn't really long enough, that's why I prefer 30 days at 2.25 ppm with an amine-chelated copper like copper power or coppersafe.

What if I transfer the tang tomorrow into my sump and see if any cysts form and if not then i just put it above and if it does form cysts they take at least a day to fall off right, seen by my wrasse not infecting my other fish
 
By the way i just acclimated the wrasse to the copper and never reduced the copper in the quarantine tank at any point when transferring

it is not enough. and - since your fish still has the disease - you need to start over with the 30 day protocol for all the fish. Your display tank should be fallow/fishless for 6-8 weeks total. Again - as others have said - unless you're using an ich management protocol. It's a little unclear what you're asking - if you start a protocol (whether ich management or copper), it's best to follow that protocol.

The ich can 'fall off' - and will, then it will re-appear. Thats pretty standard with ich. Are you sure your tank has ich? I'm sure you wanted to hear that you can just transfer your tang - but the correct answer IMHO is re-treat your fish, leave your tank fallow.
