Took out the chromies tonight and did 50% water change. I'll dose again day after tomorrow. Think I should do another large water change before next dose?

You can safely mix metro with copper (if that's still present in the water.) You also don't necessarily have to do WCs in-between metro dosages, but it also (obviously) won't hurt anything. ;)

Also is the fresh water dip before going into display helpful? How much better is the formalin bath?

I've only used a FW dip (or formalin) for temporary relief before placing the fish in a QT and treating with CP. So, I don't have much faith in either for complete eradication of uronema.

Also My old tank is empty but not drained. Would you treat for 1 week then move to the old tank for observation or would you go straight to the dt after 1 week treatment? I think I know the answer to this one based on what I'm dealing with.

So long as you are sure the old tank is disease-free, I think I would use it for observation. Uronema is not something you want to take any chances with. o_O

Oh would it hurt to mix it with their food on the off day of dosing?
I would stick with dosing it in the water.

I've been using metro for a little over a week now. No signs of uronema yet. Plan is to do FW dip then transfer to observation tank for one week. After that into display.

Do you think one week observation is enough?

Yes, uronema will resurface quickly if it is present on the fish. Good game plan BTW. :)

I'm tempted to drive to incredible corals which is much more reputable and buy a new YT and add him to observation tank.

I would just run another YT thru your QT protocol next go around.

Sorry man, I know it sucks.

What kind of water did you use to do the FW dip? RODI? Dechlorinated tap? Also, do you have postmortem pics of the YT?

No pics. RODI and I spent like 2 hours making sure the ph was as close as possible between the 3 bodies of water (qt,dip, observation)

There seemed to be some bleeding from the gills. Not 100% sure of that but that's a guess. Otherwise he looked fine. Maybe 4 min was to long?

Also the observation tank is not cycled. How often do I need to check ammonia?

There seemed to be some bleeding from the gills.

This is interesting (not in a good way). I recently FW dipped a YT and the area just behind the pectoral fin had this redness post dip:

This photo was taken just before the FW dip:

I ended up losing the fish (long story). But does this look anything like what you saw on yours?
