Hi all. I am in the mind frame that I want to change my lights to leds and have been thinking of going with Ai sols or something of the like but have heard from many that DIY is better. My main concern besides wanting it to be dimmable is aesthetics. I have a rimless tank and it has to be aesthetically pleasing. Does anyone have a diy fixture that looks manufactured? Is that even possible?

Please share your pics of the system you are proud of.

Thanks in advance

With as many DIY led systems I hear about I would think there would be tons of you posting pics to show off

Not a super detailed pic but this is a 24 led setup with a nanotuners heat sink, fit perfectly in a jbj 28 nano cube.

Here's my DIY Led its a 90w (9x10w) using epistar hybrid blue/white emitters. all parts sourced from ebay cost around $150 to build

Here's my mod of a sfiligoi fixture and build thread on doing it. honestly if you have patience i would highly suggest modifying a t-5 fixture and keeping some t-5. I read a ton on opinions of straight led vs. mixed lights and I think a lot of people, myself included, advocate mixing t-5 and led. Not saying led only is wrong, many people have success.

I replaced 4 400 watt Radiums, 3 250 watt XMs and 8 110 watt VHOs with this. Total Electricity averages less than 8 Amps vs 25 Amps and heat
