Here's my simple & small solution.

1) Buy small box from Ikea ($19)

2) Drill holes

3) Velcro stuff inside

4) Make plug pasta

You will need some fans for ventilation, very humid inside a stand with sump

How did You mount that false wall to the side of your cabinet? Surface to surface hinges? I am trying to do something very similar with my stand.
It's mounted with some corner braces that I had laying around. I think they were extras from a trip to Home Depot.

This is the cabinet of my 75 gallon mixed reef tank. The stand is 48" wide by 40" tall which is nice for viewing without having to lean over much. With the extra cabinet height, I made an equipment shelf above the sump. The controls are mounted on the doors, which swing open. Everything else hides behind the doors, mostly electrical cords.

I use to tie cords together nice and neat, until I found how difficult it was to remove a piece of equipment. Now its accessible, fast and easy to remove any item with the cords sitting loosely on the shelf.

It's a mess of cords, electrical outlets and transformers you don't have to look at, once the doors are closed.

If you don't like having to cut zipties I recomend getting a spool of double sided velcro. You just cut off a small piece for what you need and if you have to remove something its super simple and reusable.

Ok so I finally installed the acrylic false walls on the inside of my stand. Now all I need to do is instal some more lighting (blue&white LED) and do some cut outs on the top sheet of acrylic to mount my vortech driver. Hoping to mount some apex modules on there in the future as well.

Some of you guys have some really imaginative setups. I keep it on the simple side myself, the more fancy i try to make it the less likely it is to hit the mark.

That said, @mdbannister has a great little board we setup. It's plain Jane for sure, but it's effective and and nice enough to be on display and not offend guests or wives. Of course, it needed to be done so badly almost anything would be an improvement :3
