Managed to get mine wet. I apologize for the very poor quality picture. I broke the glass around my camera. Pretty simple so far. A zoa rock, a small rfa and I'm still trying to decide what to put on the rock.

This was just a random piece of a stylo that was in the main tank. No secret but if it's any consolation I kill every acan I try.

Hi folks! So I got my tank in the mail 3 weeks ago, and managed to set it up with water and rose quartz from my grandmother’s rock collection (God rest her soul)! I think it look really great, but think I have made a rookie mistake by adding too many rocks. I’ll probably remove some later. I’m the meantime, I’m going to try to get into the rhythm of testing salinity and adding water....

No doubt! They’re not glued, so I might be able to remove some later. Live and learn... I guess I’ll enjoy it while I can!!

Going to just let it do its thing and then fill this bad boy up with more shrooms. They don't seem to mind the chaotic environment (too much). Oh and holy salt creep batman everyday I have to clean off the seams. Crusty. The tanks new name is Crusty.

Yes, I think we all have our own 'Crusty'. Lots of daily salt creep! Yours on the left mostly too?

aw, im sorry to hear that. they are sensitive little beasties. Ive got a milka stylo that still has some surviving polyps, hopefully it bounces back. i wonder why the salt creep builds up so fast :O

Got to update for the first month a few days early as I'm away for the next week so will miss the deadline.
Here's a pic of it so far. The corals are annoyed as I'd done a quick water change and then realised I needed a pic!
Will get a better one when I'm back!

I agree with crusty! It's around all sides.

***November update***

The zoa is starting to open up, and a pair of sexy shrimp are in.
Chaeto are growing like crazy and trimmed once already.

Running the tank indoors without a heater. So far it is maintaining 74-78F. With winter incoming though, I will try to run the return via an airline through the ATO reservoir which will be heated, until I can get myself an Inkbird.
I have the ATO pump running through an airline, using an airline valve to reduce the flow. The anti siphon is doubling as a pressure relief and a step down to airline!

Mine is crusty on 3 sides minus the back. :/ it’s messing with my salinity.

here’s my check in for November. Added to the scape and have a zoa in there. Don’t think the acro is doing well at all, if it’s still alive. O_O I mean it’s green. Just no polyp extension at all.

November Update: Not doing too badly here. Some salt creep on the left and right side consistently. Not enough to cause severe issues with salinity or anything. Seeing some coral growth! The pocilliopora is encrusting across its plug, a few new zoa heads, new clove polyps, some spread on the porites. The gsp I put in here was almost dead in the big tank because the urchin kept throwing it in lightless areas and its bounced back beautifully. Also apparently I brought some aiptasia spores with because I have 3 for sure  . Going to have to get a few nudis for it.

I've been running the light on low, and have done zero of the planned mods for it so far.

November update.

Still no corals or inverts as of yet.

Been using the included sump as a reservoir for the ATO. You can see I have a nice cylinder plastic container to replace it as soon as I get plumbing sorted.

I am 3 revisions into the lid and I think I am just about ready to finalize it and hook up the light and fan. Testing wiring on the fan last night and it seems to be working with temp controller I got.

Hopefully this time next month I will have everything sorted out and complete and Get some Corals in it!

November update....I added one critter. Don’t freak out, it’s an Asterina starfish. I took the risk of this thing becoming a pest in my tiny tank intentionally. Since I haven’t introduced live rock or sand, I need something really hardy, and I hope it picks up a little housekeeping duties as well. I have to admit it is really fun to watch. Also, thee scale of the starfish is appropriate for the tiny tank.
Im also forming good habits in checking water quality, etc. really satisfying the control freak in me! Oh yeah, and added crust removal to my daily chores now too... if you can’t beat it, join it.

Sorry for the crappy pic. Things are living. Plan on my first water change and heater change out this weekend. Got a smaller one made for the mini tank. May pull the stick and add more mushrooms. Also ordered cuc for main tanks so will likely be adding something there as well.
