This clown trigger has ZERO fear. When the snowflake pulls the food under the rock he will chase in to get the scraps. When it is feeding time the eel nips at the triggers fins to chase him off, but it never seems serious.

Very beautiful, i miss mine it was a snow but some small fishes start to disappear and i was feeding her a lil heavy and my phos was high all the time, some one told me that it was my eel causing my phosphates to be like that, she was prob about 18” And my tank is 92 gallons so I decide to rehome her at the reef shop of a friend, but I love those eels uffffffNot mine. The price is right, but he would wreck everything in my tank....

Have any problems feeding? in my experience its been very difficult to have them eating frozen food!Went into observation on Tuesday. Took some krill off of a stick yesterday so I feel confident. I had some live small mollies and ghosties living with him, I saw him trying to catch a ghostie yesterday. He was very timid about taking him down; he's about 2' and very thin so he still might be a baby. I figured I'd try and stick feed him, I had to make the pieces really small but he took a fair amount. I'll try again tomorrow.
This one and others I have seen will eat dead food but will frequently refuse and will always be a challenge to feed. I have found this eel and many other predators benefit to have live foods included in their diet for long term success. I posted this of my experience:

About 2' maximum, maybe larger.My white-eyed out for feeding today. About how old do these guys reach full size at?
Cool, I was wondering more of its age I've had this one A little over a year now and when I got it I assume it was pretty young only 4-5 inches and maybe a little bigger around than a pencil.

I'm not really sure on that one. How big is he now? I would say to project the same rate of growth forward until he's about 2'. I've not got any eels of my own so I can't really say much else, sorry!

How beautiful!This is my blue ribbon eel that i have since April 2017. Despite his difficulty and mostly dedicated to expert, its one of the most hardest and challenging fish i ever kept(to get a fish used to captivity). As a passionate aquarist on moray eels and one of my dream fish (i mean its so coloful!), i accepted the challenge. I was very aware of the difficulty and the poor survavibility of this eel. He refused to eat about 6 month any food including live mollies and frozen silversides. With patience, research and trying multiple times, the eel finaly accepted the frozen food from Larry's reef services (LRS chunky). Few days later, the eel accepted V2O IQF silversides. And finaly, today, its surprising but i managed to make him eat pellets food for carnivore for the first time.

The smaller fang tooths az it were, 2 footers, live about 20 years in the wild. Sadly, likely due to nutritional defiencencies, most people only keep them a few years in captivity, at most. If you read some of my threads I give recommendations of dead foods that may help. If that's a species tank I would be feeding him live mollies.

James is a big boy! How cool!Here is my big zebra moray named james. The one full tank shot shows his two personal cleaners. (waters a little cloudy due to a water change)
I've read a lot of your posts over the years and I try to keep it on decent variety of foods. Fresh when I can and frozen when I can't.
Also yes it is a species specific tank its the only fish and I keep it for soft corals to help keep the nutrients in check.
For the mollies would they need enrichment or just chuck them in?
