I can’t reply to your message directly for some reason but those are some beautiful zoas and mushrooms! I really want some Zoas but didn’t get them yet because I’m scared that I’ll do something really dumb when fragging them

Do let me know how you frag yours! Then maybe I’ll get a few

Hmmn, don’t appear to have a recent picture with the daylights on.
Are those purple beauty's gorgonians, They seem to really be thriving in your system

That is a really beautiful reef tank you have there! Love the large corals in there it gives a completely different vibe! Can you tell me how long your toadstools shed for and if you do anything extra to help them shed faster?

Nice mushrooms! I had one in my tank but it died for some reason I don’t know why. All other corals are doing good but something happened to him, I’ll still give them another shot tho
Thanks! I know these guys were doing terrible until I lowered the light they were in a little. I thought I had them in good low light but after seeing them shrivel and look unhappy, I slid them into the shadows under an arch and they never looked back. Shrooms are a bit weird imo lol

If you are. Starting out, fragging won’t be an issue. But to do it, cut the base with a razor, then super glue to a frag plug

Beautiful tank! I have 1 SPS and it is struggling. I doubt I will get any more. Your tank is amazing, and looks to be the direction I want to go in with mine.

Those are some nice Duncans! I have a question about the toadstool, when they are shedding how long do they remain closed? Do you do anything extra to help them shed quicker?
for mine it can be several days even up to a week. Once it was so long i worried to was dead. i fragged it recently, first time fraging anything intentionally. waiting for the new ones to attach and grow.

i tend to chage some water out. tank is 70gal and I often do a quick 5 or 10 when it does. I doubt it matters.

sadly the duncans got sick and slimed themselves or something. it was gross. half thr colony bleach out fast

i dipped iy and iodined and other things sadly only mamaged to save a couple heads. which are now in qt. will def get more they looked great.

Yeah I can tell they are a little weird haha

Mine was doing good under an arch but then it just randomly closed up and then I moved it to a different place but nothing improved,,,, later on it just shrivelled up and died.

Ah I see thank you for the tips!
I’ve heard that turning up the flow a bit or getting in there and physically removing the old stuff while it’s shedding helps, although I’m not a 100% sure on that

I’m sorry to hear that about the Duncan’s but I’m sure they will look just as good as before if not better with some time!

Toadstools are the only softies along with a couple shrooms at their base.

That’s a really nice toadstool! Like that you added the shrooms at the base as well! How long do these toadstools shed for? Also how often? What do you do to help it shed faster?

I fought with my SPS tanks for decades …. and then decided I’d go back to my softies roots. So much easier.
