Quick question about the yellow tang and even blue hippo tang. Don't they need 100+ gallons? I swear I've seen a decent number of people with either one of these in their Red Sea Reefer 250s or others that are under 100 gallons. Do they really not need all that space?

When small, but they will either trade the fish in/sell when they outgrow the tank, or they maybe upgrading soon or starting to purchase the equipment for the upgrade. It opens a can of worms as some people feel it's not being a responsible fish keeper others feel it's ok.

Yellow Tang is not so bad but Regal blue Tang can get big. Still these are small enough to be rehome relatively easy. It the Naso, Sailfin and other tangs that get to 1'8" plus that is a problem

There are a lot of threads of "my healthy" huge Tang "just died overnight" for "no reason" especially Naso Tang.
Often when I see these thread I wanted to yell" it the 2X2 cube you got them in" but refrain from doing it

Can you keep a powder blue tang and a hippo tang together in a 100 gal reef tank?
