What you are doing is good. Copper won't treat it right away. I recommend you give him lists of hiding spaces and high quality food to help him fight off the ich.

Thanks for the help. Have you ever heard or tried ginger mixed with food as a treatment?

Lots of hiding spots as suggested, subdued lighting, good quality food and as much as it will eat, but not so much as to foul the water quality, vitamins and garlic extract soaked food, clean water and lots of patience and luck. The medication will kill the parasite in its free swimming state from what Ive read (?), it could take a while to break the life cycle of the parasite. I dont think its an overnight or few day thing? Good luck, and Im sure someone else has way better recommendations than me. There is a ton of info on this forum, hopefully it helps you out.

Go full treatment with the copper and keep doing what you doing. Just confirm your copper treatment process. Type/brand, level, test kit. Try feeding some nori too.

X2. We need to know which copper you're using and what test kit you're using.

Also, ensure little to no rock or sand is in the QT as it will cause fluctuations and absorption of medication

It's a bare QT with a couple pvc pieces for hiding. . Kordon+ copper (all I have right now)
Little to no light on QT tank.
Thanks

What brand of copper were you using? What test kit do you have for it? What level is the copper in the QT and how long has it been there?

Kordon+ API test kits.

Been 1.7 for like a week

You'll have to keep the level at 1.5-2ppm for a full 30 days. If the levels drop below 1.5ppm even once, the 30 days starts over. I'm going to merge this thread with your other one.

I've heard of this and it won't help with ich or anything else. If it does anything, it may be similar to adding garlic to the fish's food and only helps entice them to eat when they might not normally.

I tried it. He seemed to have gotten a little better. Was prob more wishful thinking on my part than anything

It does not help, I agree
