Sick torch

So my torch hasn’t been extending good in a while, then this happened basically in the course of 2 days. All my other corals look good including a hammer. The only parameter that I’ve had any issues with is that my Phosphate read .10 on my Hanna a couple days ago so I’ve added some phosguard and did a 15% water change today.

My clown has always hosted in it, maybe he finally caused it to give up?

Clowns can be rough on corals when they attempt to host (small anemones too) I've had the worst of luck with torches because I own filefish they nip at them all the time.

How significant of a drop in Phosphate did your phosguard do?
Its a rapid remover for phosphate and might of triggered a shock.

Checked it just now, it’s .09 so still high

It was probably due to clowns. In nature you find them in anemones, if one isn't present in a tank they may try to host something similar. Your torch became the host and due to the hard exoskeleton, the clowns were inadvertently killing it.

The only other thing I can think of is a major swing in Cal Alk or Mag
but if your clowns were hosting it they can be rough on them like the others mentioned.

I have had clowns kill hammer and bubble coral before due to hosting them aswell.
