This Hippo Tang scared the heck out of me. He was flying around the tank really fast with a shell on his face. I thought a hermit was attacking him, but it was just him playing. He picks up a shell or a piece of LR and swims as fast as he can, then drops it.

I don't think most non-fishpeople understand how much personality fish have.

I doubt it's an ich thing. Sounds like it would be funny to watch! :)

Good to hear this...I thought my hippo was was the only one..started carrying empty snail shells around and dropping them into the middle of corals...on top of montipora, in the middle of birds nests, hanging em on my acrophoras ...impossible places for a dead snail shells to end up on their own...

Then it went totally insane and ate every zoa in the tank in color order...starting with red, then pink, then green then orange...all the nice ones.
Great personality! You have any zoas? lol.

I have blue hippo that does the same thing. At first it was cute and fun to watch until he started picking up my spa frags off of my frag rack and dropping them in different places in the tank.

He's teaching you how to reef....you had the frags in the wrong place, he's just putting them in the right spot lol. If I were you and the frags aren't sitting on other corals, I would leave them....maybe he/she is an interior designer.
