Hi,

I have a mandarin dragonet who recently developed a single white lump on the side of his face.

I have not been able to identify what this is. Any suggestions on what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

He is eating and behaving normally as far as I can tell. There have not been any new additions to the tank since February. And he, like all but one of my other fish, comes from aquaculture.

Many thanks,
Daniel

Well, single white spots are often just a bump or minor injury. You should watch to see that it doesn’t erupt/open up, that is a sign of a deeper infection. Likewise, new spots showing up can be a sign of problems.
The fish looks good otherwise, not skinny at all!
