This a. Quick video. My wrasse has been in my tank for over a week. Was doing well swimming around a lot. Very active. Yesterday appeared very lethargic. And stayed in his spot under the rock most of the day. Today he has been here all day. Didn’t even come out to eat.

this has been his usual spot at night. But now he has stayed I checked my levels. Everything seems normal

2 other tank mates are doing fine

can anyone help me out. Is there anything I can do or I just have to let it play out??

newbie here

please assist

thank you

I see lesions on the side of your wrasse. Let's get you some help from the fish medics.

I see really fast breathing, and some damage.

Looks like a hogfish in that quick video? I wonder if that's the problem.

That was my thoughts too - stress and mechanical damage.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

I agree, this looks like an injury from another fish and general stress. What are the other two fish in the tank?

There is a disease that mimics these symptoms called Uronema, but this species of wrasse isn’t highly prone to getting that.

The other fish is a fire fish and I think a yellow coris wrasse. I forget the name

I lost him. Unfortunately Didn’t make it. Went into his mucus cocoon and stayed there til the end.
The yellow fish was spotted bothering him while he was in there too… so maybe he was attacked.
Thanks everyone for your help

That’s not a yellow corris… and I’m sure it wouldn’t have worked out anyways between them 2 wrasses.. before you run out and buy another 6 line do some research because they’re normally the winner of all battles! Most 6 lines once settled in a tank won’t let any other fish in the tank without harassing them to death..

To the untrained eye, I could see that being confused as a yellow coris. Hogfish can be aggressive
