Interesting fish, but it has some issues. Was it attacked by other fish, or does it have flukes?

this fish from hong kong , This fish has not been attacked by other fish. The white and gray areas on its body are its natural coloration.

It sure looks like disrupted scales on its nape. Cool looking fish.
