Skard's in wall 300DD build!

HR, I assume that's a lower dose than recommended? I had looked at that option as well but was going to try the crabs first. I fought bubble algae in my old 150G reef and eventually got rid of it and it never came back.
That’s the recommended dose. That stinks with those nudi’s. I heard a certain strain of peppermint shrimp will eat them and the eggs.

Thanks HR, when it rains it pours I guess. I have a couple wrasses I have coming in tomorrow that may help with the nudi's but I guess we will see. The pithos crabs are doing there job and I am manually removing as much of the bubble algae everyday so hopefully I can get ahead of it.

Seeing builds like this makes me wish I had a new tank again...

But my growing watch obsession and twin 16 month olds say NO...
Thank nuxx, I love it but with the bubble algae and nudi's sometimes makes me wish it wasn't so large :)

Hey all, been a minute so I have been through the gauntlet over the last 7 months with this tank. I beat my my massive bubble algae breakout by using Brightwell Razor. It was a gamble as I had read mixed reviews but my corals and rock were being overrun. It worked, but I did lose a couple nice corals but nothing major. Once that was all gone I had a massive outbreak of aptasia that covered the whole aquarium. I used a combination of manual removal, aptasia X and then finally aptasia eating nudibranch. The nudibranch have taken out all the aptasia in the last three weeks. So the aquarium is clear and everyting is looking good, going to add another 10 -15 SPS this weekend and hopefully I am over the hump! Next up, re-instaling the algae turf scrubber, adding bellus angels, and then the tangs (two yellow, one yellow belly blue).

Glad to hear the Brightwell Razor worked, I am going through the same process unfortunately. Would you happen to have any berghia to sell to a fellow Omaha reefer? :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Husker, I may have some I can just give u they are just hard to find in the reef sometimes!

Well it's a been a minute, things are going well in the 300. Fought off all the bubble algae and after that was cleared up had a major outbreak of aptasia. So I bought some aptasia eating nudis and now everything is cleaned up. I finally found a pair of Bellus angels and they are doing really well! Just fighting a little turf algae, might run some GFO, and do a water change or two...

looking good! Are you still running the halides?
Thanks HR, yes running a 20K Radium 250W in the center with two A360XE Kessils and two T-5 bulbs. Very happy with the growth and color spectrum. Working on fixing a ballast on my actinic Reef Brite LED to add a little more blue spectrum to the tank.
