Having been battling nitrates for quite a while I decide to give dosing a shot.. 100gal combined display tank and sump. Started with 1ml for a week with nothing changing.. Added and additional 1 ml and for the first week nothing changed but now into the second week of 2ml dosing and my skimmer is producing twice as much skimate as before I started dosing.. The skimate is very very wet... though.
Am I right to think this is an indication that things are changing for the better and to maintain that dose for another week?? My nitrates are still in the 60 range but my phosphates are always nearly undetectable.

Also should I try to get a dryer skim or let this run it's course.

Thanks in advance and HAPPY THANKSGIVING
