Is that hardy plank? I need to drill through the same stuff if so.

Yes it is and it was a clean hole using this bit.

Ok so far the results I've seen since yesterday.

The skimmer is still running like a champ and PH didn't drop nearly as much last night . Prior to running the outside airline mine would dip down to around 7.82.

Last night I recorded a low of 7.91 so that's almost a full .10

I'd already consider that a huge success! I'm in. :)

Current reading .....

It will be interesting to note what today's new high point will be ....... I'll post that later today.

Also a side note. I do not dose anything yet. No kalkwasser no nothing. So these readings are strictly pure PH bump due to running this new tubing to the outside.

In this picture you can see the difference of the high PH yesterday, the overnight low, and today's high. As you can see there is definitely a marked improvement.

So the end result of running an airline to the outside of my home as seen an improvement of .10 increase in PH overall. The biggest surprise was how much less the PH dropped overnight in comparison to previous nights . Overall PH has not only improved but the overall PH Swing has flattened out.

No problem. After doing this little project I would definitely recommend it to anyone that can do it. It doesn't cost much and you can knock it out in a few hours, and yes I'm including the time it takes to go to the hardware store.

Happy Reefing!

Yes at first I thought 25' might be a bit of a stretch, but as it turns out it has worked great!

I have mine setup so it intakes outside air at the read of the house away from the driveway
and exhausts the air (to get rid of any smell) on the driveway side of the house.

I think I'm using 3/8 hose but have considered going a larger diameter for less restriction.
possibly hard PVC for the bulk of the run. or to just buy an inexpensive garden hose.

I also made bug guards of the strainer portion of a Maxi-Jet so bugs would not clog the line

Finished off the outside with some floss I had laying around and a black zip tie to keep it in place, but not to tight lol.... This will work for now. [emoji16][emoji16]

This is what I have for now , but I will probably shorten the hose and protect it from rain and bugs better. For now it's working just fine [emoji4]

My turn!

Before Apex controller and I'll post the after tomorrow (hopefully with similar results). Thanks to you all for your help to have the confidence to drill a hole through the side of

my house.

Used a cobalt mj-1200 strainer as a bug guard (it's in a covered area where rain sin't going to be a factor) @Harry_Y thanks for that little tip.

Hahaha! My Ca, Alk and Mg are all a bit low (I knew this yesterday) so I didn't make any changes. I wanted to get pure results. I fully expect this to keep climbing when I get the other parameters in check! I'd call this a success for one day, given that I've worked out twice in the room.
