Does anyone know why this isnt aligned anymore after I took it apart to clean

Significant gap now and pump doesnt sit flat anymore with skimmer body

I didnt have it on anything before...

Both are flat on the counter here

Well that’s odd!

It doesn’t appear that the skimmer’s body is misaligned on the skimmer bottom plate…

Did the pump have rubber feet of some description which appear to have broke off during cleaning?

Otherwise; is there something stuck to the bottom of the skimmer’s bottom plate that shouldn’t be there?

—I stared at this photo for several minutes… Unless you’re physically missing plumbing parts, or it’s one of the above reasons; I don’t see any other way this could even happen… strange!

All rubber feet are on an in place.

There is nothing on the bottom of the body either.

Would this happen if my heater is in same chamber as the skimmer?

Interesting!

Well, acrylic only just starts plastic deformation at 210 degrees (F)… so basically the water in that area would need to be boiling!

You would also see a significant visible distortion in the reflection off the skimmer body if it had deformed!

Just to confirm; the red pipe coming out of the pump is straight, not bent to one side that I can’t see from the photo angle?

The plastic pump base, and its interface with the pump body itself is another area we can scrutinize… it’s the only other location among these parts that could change pump height vs. skimmer…

No its just a straight piece of pipe

I’m at a loss here… this is incredibly odd!

How far off is the red pipe from the skimmer inlet hole? It looks to be over an inch low from your photo, assuming the red pipe is pressing against the skimmer body!

Yepp that was it thank you so much haha been a long Monday
Hey; I’m glad we got to the bottom of it!!

Haha you had me stumped with that first pic… the perfect angle to not be able to see that the volute outlet wasn’t centered!

Now you can finish off that long Monday with no more frustrations!
