Skimmer Stands?? Let me see yours or suggestions please!

Howdy,
I have a red sea reefer 250 with stock sump. I have the reef octopus 110 INT skimmer. Needs to be in 6 inches of water but i currently have my sump level at 9 and i do kind of like it at 9 inches. So either i will buy a skimmer stand or DIY this project. Which could be a good time killer now that i think about it... ;Pompus

I use eggcrate with pvc couplers. Drilled on the pvc and zip ties them together

Yeah that seems the best way to do it. I need to get my hands on black egg crate..

Yeah i was thinking of painting them black. But.. its goes in the water... So I didn't paint it. After a while I forgot that its there. LoL

I had lexan kicking around so I made a simple table. A square top and two rectangular supports adhered perpendicular to the top.

Works great even though I’m too much of a chicken to add the skimmer (new build, never had a skimmer and am scared about it over flowing)

Overflow would not be ideal! you should be okay as long as you arent close to the edge of sump. Or are you worried about overflow of skimmate?

I originally did the egg crate and pvc method but just recently purchased some marine pure blocks (the one that’s 1-1/2” thick) and now 110 int sits on that

egge crate and zip ties. i made a flat top for the skimmer and then placed egg crate on its side zip tied to the flat top.
