Anyone know what the culprit could be on white/clear slime? I know it’s bacterial and usually fueled by a carbon source. But I’ve removed any potential things that could affect it, no aerosols, candles, plug ins, nor a kitchen anywhere near the room the tank is in. Ive got an IM 30L in which I’m running innovative marines UV sterilizer and I’ve also got an air stone that’s feeding in fresh air from outside that doesn’t seem to be really doing much. The slimes not bad by any means, some strings here and there but I’m having to change out my filter floss every 12 hours or so due to it being clogged and flooding the media basket slot it’s stored in. There’s a larger accumulation of slime in the sump where there’s expectedly less water movement. I try to never stick my hands in the tank unless I’ve given them a good rinse under the sink (no soap). I do tend to wash my tank materials (cups, nets, syringes, filter pads etc) under the tap water which is 900+ TDS, should I stop doing this and only rinse tools with distilled? Distilled is what I use for my tank as well. Are there any other pollutants that could be in my home I should maybe look into? I don’t have carpet so no carpet cleaners, no cleaning products at all in the room the tanks in, no alcohol, no smoking, nothing. I had this issue in my last time and did the whole Dr Tims Waste away and Refresh regimen, and cannot say that I noticed much of a difference at all. Just sort of at my wits end and tired of dealing with this crap. Also important to note, I do not carbon dose at all. Skimmer rated for 50 gallons, refugium chamber with chaeto, purigen and phosguard as needed.
