I want to upgrade the heater I have currently in my 25 gallon, an aquatop 100w titanium heater. It hasn't given me a reason to upgrade, but I dont want it to. Can't find too much info on the reliability of these so I figured its best to upgrade. Ive been looking an innovative marines helio heaters, they seem good and I have never been disappointed with IM products, anyone have experience with these or have another heater they'd recommend?
I also have an 8 gallon tank im setting up thats currently using a 50w glass heater, I figured Id replace that with a 50w Helio heater.

IMO an inkbird would be a better purchase. In my experience, all heaters eventually fail, its just a matter of time. So you can replace it occasionally as a proactive way to avoid that eventual failure, or get an inkbird to control your heater and protect against malfunction. A heater/inkbird combo will last many years and you'll have peace of mind. My 2 cents, good luck

@JoJosReef Do you use helio?
Yes, I use a Helio 200W single probe, which I used for my 40gal AIO, and now use for my 83gal + 26gal sump. If I were in a colder location, I would double the wattage, but so far the 200W is working fine.

I use the Helio as the primary heater. It has its own temp monitoring. I have an Inkbird as a secondary temp monitor connected to a 300W "inkpet" glass heater that has an internal temp monitor and is set to 78F. On top of ALL of that, I have a Hydros temp monitor and when it goes out of high range I can shut off both the Helio and the Inkbird (i.e., if the monitor screws up and heaters break and go nonstop) or just alert me if both of them fail or the water is so cold the two heaters can't keep up (unlikely).

TMI, probably. But yes, I have a Helio and use it as my primary heater because it is the best heater I've used so far.

Have you looked at hygger? They have a lot of smaller heaters in different forms. I've got one of them on the Aoioa 8 gallon tank.

I second the idea that all heaters will fail eventually. The best thing you can do is plan for it. On my IM 25g Lagoon I use two 50w Nicrew heaters connected to an Inkbird controller. I like the Nicrews because they have an external digital thermostat that I find to be more precise and accurate than analog knobs, and they're small enough to fit in the back compartments of my AIO. The Inkbird controller acts as my main thermostat, and the Nicrew thermostats are set to shut off just above the Inkbird setting as a failsafe. Using two smaller heaters also moderates any temperature change if one of them were to stick on or off.
