Countless hours!
Plus lots of mistakes, successes , maturing,
And patience.

This tank will be a massive down size but a big upgrade :)

Long time between posts
I am finally going to get this litte tank wet!

I have collected most of the gear I want, and now started putting it together

I am going very minimal, only using frags from other reefers tanks, and only a select few to try get a clean mix of nice colour

I'll post an update of the gear once I read through the post and see what I have already said

I have made up a power box,
It's nothing great, but it should keep it tidy,
It's my weakness so happy enough with it,

Next is the plumbing, I have most of the gear again, just need the pipe,

Cabinet doors are in getting painted now,
Just going for twopac White

I have purchased a letremeter from America, I will set that up and aim for 100% water changes weekly using red sea blue

I couldn't put the mp10 on the tank as the magnets were not strong enough for the 10mm glass and acrylic, so I cut holes into the acrylic for the wet side to slot into, worked well, scary as hell

Anyway that's about it for now

I started the plumbing today,
I have the syphons dry fit,
I just have to work out a neat way to run the returns.
I love the Royal exclusive dream box, but they could give you a bit more room to plumb into, the way it's designed creates a Cluster of pipes.

I put some sand in today, Red Sea 2-3mm 10kg,
I have some Red Sea live sand to put in later. It looks great, a really nice colour. Should help make the coral pop

I also started the cable management, I hate doing it, I am going to have to do it over a week and a lot of wine!!!
Baby steps

That's about it,
I am getting excited to get it wet! And start the hunt for those special sps frags

Peace all

Cycle started today,
I am using prawns to cycle the Tank,
No live rock at all,

It has been running for a week to just tweak it, everything runs beautifully,
Looking forward to it coming together

Tank is 2-3 weeks into its cycle,
Ammonia is 0
Nitrite 4
Nitrate off the charts,
Once the nitrite is down I'll do a large water change and start another mini cycle,

Heaps of algae in the tank, just gave it a clean

Peace

So the cycle has been and gone. I gave it an extra 3 weeks after for the tank to just stabilize.
I am really happy with it, the nutrients are all 0.
(fish will help bring that back to a reading)

2 days ago i threw in my first coral and today i put the first fish in.

I tested the water yesterday, and the levels where very low, so i have set up the dosing. I am using the pacific sun kore 5th.
And i have to say, i love it. So easy to use once you have a quick play with it. I just hope it will be reliable .

Current fish list

Bi-colour blenny
2-3 bangii
Golden angel.

Coral
Other
black and yellow Ric

SPS All FRAGS
dark green hystrix
pink and yellow hystrix (currently a little more brown)
