I have a snowflake eel that for the last month wont eat anything other than scallop. I was a bit concerned about nutrition and if there is anything I can do to promote better nutrition.

I have been squishing pellets into the scallop lately.

Ive tried silversides, krill, and scallops.

Have you tried squid, shrimp, crabs, or live feeder fish?

In the short term this is not a problem, but for longevity you are going to want a more varied diet. He really won't go for silversides?

He is still quite small. Maybe 8 inches long and 1/4 wide. He investigates the silversides but doesn’t take them yet. My gut feeling says its a size thing but that is just speculation since I am chopping the silversides up into 1/4” squares. They have been frozen for 6 months so maybe just not as tasty.

All my locals stores use phosphate for preservatives shrimp that I have found so far or the person doesnt know for sure. This is a mixed reef so I am careful about preservatives.

I could try feeder fish. I will have to see who has some.

I will try to find some squid too.

Yeah, I would just roll with trying stuff till you find a multi part regimen that works. Should be okay. And I think the silverside thing is size based as well. Because I have seen basically every eel imaginable including snowflakes take silversides. 8 " is pretty small for a snowflake still :)
