so many old threads

Lately when I log on to R2R and click on the " New Posts" tab, there are always atleast 21 pages of threads.
Some haven't had new posts in days.
I use to be able to leave and come back and find only a few pages. Leave for 10 - 12 hours and there would be more, but they would all have new posts in them.
Now I can go through all the pages, leave and come back a hour later and the same 21 pages are still there.
This happened a few months ago, and then it seemed like it was fixed, but now it's doing it again.
I tried IE 9, IE 10, Chrome, and Firefox.

Just tried logging out, then logging back in and there are only a few new threads. Hmmm. Seems to be working now?

Not sure how to say it. But I thought once you visit R2R, checkout new posts, then leave, for a 1/2 hour-hour or more. When you come back to R2R the old posts you saw when here last would be gone and only the new posts would show.
If I check everything out, then hit the log-out tab and leave, then come back and log-in, I only see new posts ( since I was here last). But if I don't log-out, then all the posts will stay, resulting in 21+ pages of old posts eventually pile up.
