I have read the threads on feeding zoa's. Somehow I still don't know anything. Plenty of people feeding them a variety of things (meaning they put a lot of different things into their tanks and assume some or all of them are feeding their zoa's).
I have a nano-reef and dropping tons of food into the tank is not an option.
There must be someone that knows what foods/nutrients these guys like. Watching how they respond to everything I've thrown at them I suspect it's a nutrient more than a food they are after. My pallys will eat anything that goes in the water, but the zoa's never seemingly grab or eat anything.
I have dosed Vitamin C at the recommendation of others, but have no idea if it's doing anything.
Amino Acids?
Vitamin complex?

All of my Zoas are doing fine on an invisible diet of light and whatever is in Rods Foods, but they are not growing like weeds either.

I mix all 3 Together in some Tank Water

I feed but i just throw the food in and walk away I have never seen a reaction from most zoas. My zoas look great but just like that i know friends that have SPS tanks and feed very little and their zoas look great.

What makes you think you need food? I've had radioactive something zoas for a long time and never feed them...they look great! But by all means, if you think you need to, then turn off thE filter and just throw in some food.

I've been fighting high No3's and Alkalinity, and my Zoas are the only things I haven't killed. I have been doing large WC's, no supplements.
My fish always poop on my corals.

Nothing wrong in feeding them.
They will use the extra the energy to grow ad reproduce.
There is wrong in feeding too much or the wrong stuff.
Anything in excess is not good!

Dry invert foods, amino acids and some fish food are great for zoas!
Target feed them is fun.
Just use your imagination.

Grandis.
